Johannes Westberg received his PhD (2008) and habilitation (2014) at Uppsala University, Sweden, and is full professor of theory and history of education at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. He served as senior lecturer at the Department of Education, Uppsala University, 2012-2016, and as full professor of education at Örebro University, Sweden, 2016–2020,
