3. CfP: THIRD INTERNATIONAL HISTORY OF KNOWLEDGE CONFERENCE
The third History of Knowledge Conference will be organized in Utrecht on 25-27 August 2027. Utrecht University is home of the Descartes Centre for the History and Philosophy of Sciences and the Humanities, and together with the Huygens Institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences home of the field’s flagship Journal for the History of Knowledge.
In recent years, history of knowledge has developed into a vibrant field of interdisciplinary research and scholarship around the globe. The History of Knowledge Conference will gather scholars with a diversity of backgrounds to further develop the field and its impact on other disciplines and on society. Fostering inclusivity, we welcome all scholars working on the history of knowledge in the broadest sense, and contributions on any period, region and topic are welcome, as long as they are clearly related and relevant to the history of knowledge. However, we particularly encourage the submission of contributions that tie in with the central theme of the conference: Decentering the History of Knowledge.
Submissions
We invite submissions for individual papers, for panels, and for a broad and open category of other contributions. All submissions should be sent by mail to mail to: HoKconference27@uu.nl Deadline for all submissions is 15 December 2026

4. CfP: THE EVERYDAY IN THE HISTORY OF NATIONHOOD AND NATIONALISMS CONFERENCE
The Everyday in the History of Nationhood and Nationalisms Conference, organised by the Research Council of Finland Centre of Excellence in Nationalism Research in the Humanities (NARS), takes place at Tampere University, Finland May 12-14, 2027.
The First NARS Conference will examine how the everyday has shaped, negotiated, legitimized, and challenged nationalisms, and continues to do so. How have people produced and contested national meanings in different ways and in their encounters with mundane institutions, practices, spaces and objects? To what extent is the episodic, fluctuating, and asymmetrical nature of nationalism due to everyday encounters of individuals and groups with national(ist) affordances? More fundamentally, what does the “everyday” signify in everyday nationalism, and what influences its changing meanings?
The Call for Proposals is open until 30 October 2026.

6. SUMMER SCHOOL 2027: EDUCATIONAL TEMPORALITIES: RE-CONSTRUCTING TIME IN/FOR THE HISTORY OF EDUCATION
The Sixth Histories of Education Summer School will, for the third time in a row, take place in the city center of Leuven. Dates: Monday July 5 and will end on Friday July 9, 2027. Prior, one online preparatory meetings will take place in the first week of July. An online closing session will take place the week after.
The 2027 Histories of Education Summer school invites emerging historians of education to explore what happens when we place time and temporalities at the centre of our historical inquiries. It encourages participants to investigate how educational practices and environments have organised, disciplined, represented, experienced, and imagined time across a broad variety of settings, while also reflecting critically on the temporal categories through which historians themselves make sense of educational pasts.
Academic coordinators: Sarah Van Ruyskensvelde & Pieter Verstraete (University of Leuven, Belgium) & Johannes Westberg (University of Groningen, Netherlands)
Applications are open from 19 October, 2026.
